Why is the Respect-backed administration of Lutfur Rahman being so secretive about plans for the re-development of the temporary Health Centre site on Mellish Street?
What we need are more school places on the Island for the ever growing population. Instead the council, after a consultation exercise conducted via the small print in East End Life are apparently going to award the site to a "cultural group" with facilities for prayers.
Amongst questions which need to be answered are, why this bid ahead of a school? How involved with the Mayor and administration are those running the centre?
Why were residents in Mellish Street, the Barkantine Estate and the surrounding areas not notified properly about this process?
Once again, serious questions need to be asked.
