Lutfur Rahman’s waste was exposed again after a Freedom of Information request showed Tower Hamlets pays a left-wing newspaper’s ex-editor
£500 a day to pump out propaganda for Rahman.
Mark Seddon, a former editor of Tribune, was paid an astonishing £51,500 in 2012/13.
Cllr Peter Golds, who uncovered the information, said "Tower Hamlets has got better things it could be spending its money on than propaganda for Lutfur Rahman. Rahman’s clique of ‘consultants’ and cronies are coining it in at the expense of Tower Hamlets taxpayers.
"Rahman doubled the budget for his advisors earlier this year—in defiance of a decision of councillors. This means an extra £300,000 per year on more advisors like Mark Seddon.
"We shall be calling on the Government to look into this scandal immediately."
