Chris Wilford has been selected by Poplar and Limehouse Conservative Association to be their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the 2015 General Election.
Wilford, who earlier this year stood as the Conservative Candidate for Mayor of Tower Hamlets, came through a strong field. From the need for development with a plan to securing the economic recovery, Chris aims to run an inclusive campaign across the whole constituency on the issues that matter to local people.
On his selection Wilford said:
"The Conservatives are a growing force in Poplar and Limehouse. With a fractious political landscape all bets are off for the General Election. I will be challenging Labour's Jim Fitzpatrick MP on his party's national record and holding Tower Hamlets First to account locally. We can make a real breakthrough in 2015."
Chairman of Poplar and Limehouse Conservative Association Neil King said:
"Chris is an energetic and enthusiastic campaigner. We look forward to working with him to mount a strong campaign across the whole constituency and play our part in securing a Conservative majority next year."
